Hi JPMS Clients,
I would like to know if you would be interested in coming to our warehouse and pick your own orders, shop like Sam’s Club if you will, to save on freight etc. and other special deals, maybe one day a week, say Monday mornings or late Friday afternoons? Any interest? let me know. If enough of you are interested we will consider doing this.

On a rare occasion, we might consider this but normally, we aren’t close enough to PMOhio to make this beneficial.

Hi Kyle,
Thanks for your comment, your account is too large to do this……it would be a big project! I recommend we let our pickers and packers and Fed Ex do the work for you! The idea for this came to me one day when I was at Lowes….you never know how many “do it yourselfers” there are out there! What I really want to talk about on my blog is DIVERSION! What do you think?

this would not be possible for us, we have a hard time finding time to do the weekly shopping for t-paper, besides what would this do to your reps???? they are too valuable to us and you, I think it is a mistake in todays world, you need all the help you can get. They are your link to us, and I don’t think you want to be like the others that are going public, is isn’t professional.

Thanks for all of your responses. I agree that a Salon Service Professional coming into your Salon on a regular basis is the absolute best, without question. This is your link, not only to Paul Mitchell Ohio but to John Paul Mitchell Systems and we will continue to employ and support our Service Professionals always as we believe this is the ultimate service that we can provide Salons. There are cases, however, where a Salon buys so little that a Salon Service Professional cannot afford to go to them…there are Salons that prefer going to a store and there are many Stylists who rent space and only works one to two days a week and that makes it difficult for a Service Professional as well. Let’s be realistic, gas is very expensive, we have Service Professionals who drive over a thousand miles a week! If they drive twenty miles out of their way to visit a Salon and the owner says, “I’m fine for now,” which happens quite often, they have just driven forty miles for a big disappointment and a big chunk of time eaten out of their day. We are trying to find ways to service all of the varied needs in the Professional Haircare Industry. I think it would be a good experience to visit our warehouse, maybe even have lunch with Mike and I and get to know us. I also agree with the comment about phone mistakes, everytime something is repeated the chances for mistakes go up. The two best ways of stopping this is reviewing your order with your Salon Service Professional and initialing it or placing your order on line. The larger your needs the more you need a Salon Service Professional.

I rely on our salon service professional (Sam) for way more than ordering products. He is so full of product knowledge, marketing ideas, etc. He has also referred to me some of my best stylists. I would really have a hard time without him! I do, however, think that it would be great to come to the warehouse every now and then to see some of the specials, etc. in person. I am sure that I could find things that I normally wouldn’t think to purchase. It is a long drive for us so it would be a rare occasion but I would still do it when possible. Lunch with Connie and Mike would be great! It helps to know and learn from the professionals in this industry. Who knows they may get some great ideas from us too! It would also be really great to see some display ideas that the warehouse would have. I am always looking for something new for our store front! Make sure you let me know when we can do it! Maybe Sam and I can make the trip together and get some great ideas that will help ,not only with sales, but with forecasting, budgeting, marketing, etc.

I must agree with Melissa, Sam is worth his weight in gold! he is wonderful, in my opinion he is the best Salon Service Professional in the country, you are very fortunate to have him! On our new software we can help you with forcasting based on your past purchases and sales. It would be part of your yearly business plan. I know visiting our warehouse would be an eye opening experience! You would also enjoy meeting everyone who works at Paul Mitchell Ohio. We would love to hear your ideas and share ours with you. We offer so much more than what most Salon Owners are aware of. I rmemmber when I owned a Salon, I was so busy running my business and raising children that life was a blur. I am sure that I didn’t take advantage of what was offered. We always have our salesmeetings on the third Monday of every month here at the warehouse and I am sure Sam would love for you to ride with him to Zanesville. This offer goes to all Salon Owners in Ohio and West Virginia. Hope to see you soon!

please do not go to shopping in the warehouse and get rid of our reps.Denny is my rep and he has been a huge help and I do not have time to go to a warehouse. I am now all Paul Mitchell and I want to keep it that way but yet simple for me.The new girls on the phone when I place my orders have realy been doing well lately and my orders have been correct for a while. dont fix it if its not broke!

Debbi, I agree, when you are fortunate enough to have a really good Salon Service Professional there is no need to change a thing and you have a good one. Denny is wonderful. It’s a big job to do your own inventory control, regular ordering, promotional and holiday ordering…..overwhelming almost! I started this blog to get salon owners comments, questions and ideas. Thanks for yours. For the serious business owner who runs a busy and successful salon, this is a crazy idea…..who wants to take their day off, go product shopping, fill up the trunk of their car, drag it to the salon, you get the picture! However, there are those who prefer going to the store and doing what I just stated. More than anything, I wanted to start dialogue with Salon Owners.
